A Canadian artist working in painting and printmaking from her studio in Victoria, B.C., Lorraine is a graduate of fine arts from the University of Victoria. Her work is in private collections in Canada, Japan, Mexico, the UK and the USA.
A journey in art is the telling of a story, a journal of a day. I came to visual art by way of music and a love of modern design. Making art just seems like a natural state of being. Born in Selkirk Manitoba my journey started in the Interlake area of Manitoba and continues on the West Coast of Canada, on Vancouver Island.

the dry flatland
that holds the inland sea
the rolling skies of thunder
from the west
in summer
my art is about flood and winter melt
heat and drought
strength and vision
where my people persevered
in a land of extremes
my ancestors were Vikings
resilient
people with vision
my neighbours
musicians, farmers, fishermen
poets, risk-takers
innovators
